Practice is the most important part of the development process for our players. Practice is where kids will improve their skills so it is critical that they are attending whenever possible. If players will not be able to make a practice please let us know in advance.
Beyond practice we highly recommend that players are getting touches on the ball daily. Please encourage the kids to practice on their own. This can be as simple as dribbling the ball or working on footwork in their rooms.
Please encourage the kids to watch soccer on TV or live whenever possible. It’s amazing how much kids learn by watching the game played by others.
Our club has experienced tremendous growth and we will have 6 teams playing this season. Please support the other teams by getting out and watching their games whenever possible. All schedules are posted on the website.
· Please have players to games a minimum of 15 minutes early.
· Players should bring both jerseys to all games.
· Game day conduct of spectators:
o Do not coach from the sidelines. The fields are big and it is often difficult for us to communicate to the players during games. It is distracting for the coaches AND the players when spectators (this includes parents) are communicating to the players during games. Please let the coaches take care of the coaching.
o Do not berate the referees under any circumstances. This point was emphasized this year in the coaches meetings at the SCSA offices. Any issues with the officiating will be handled solely by the coaches. Any spectators caught yelling at officials for any reason will be asked to leave. Do not put our teams at a disadvantage by talking to the officials during games.
o All spectators must remain in the designated areas. They will not be allowed in the designated areas for the coaches or teams. The referees have been instructed to police this better.
· Most of all, let’s enjoy a great season of soccer and a continued development of all our players!
